A college freshman was stabbed to death on his State University of NY campus Sunday night in what officials said was a targeted attack.
They say the stabbing was not a random act.
The school cancelled all classes on Monday in a show of solidarity with the victim. University police responded to a call about a possible assault and found the engineering student with apparent stab wounds. The suspect, described as a light-skinned male wearing dark trousers and a dark, Puma hooded sweatshirt, remains at large.
On March 11, Binghamton nursing student Haley Anderson, 22, of Westbury, Long Island, was found murdered at an off-campus residence.
"Investigators from multiple agencies have been interviewing numerous people throughout the night", a statement from the university read. "We're an incredible community here at Binghamton, but we've faced tragedy and hardship before in different ways, and we've stuck together and stood by each other".

The body of a 12-year-old boy was found in a California river , 6 miles away from where the rest of his family was found dead. Their disappearance coincided with reports that a vehicle had sunk into the Eel River in Northern California.
Roque was taken to the Broome County Jail after the arraignment.

The crisis team at the Middle/High School has convened and a plan is in place to provide counseling to students and staff who may be in need. Earlier in the afternoon, university police released surveillance photos of Roque wearing dark trousers and a dark, hooded sweatshirt as they asked for the public's help.
