Guillaume Ngoie Mwamba, director of the Expanded Program on Immunization, was the first Congolese to receive the vaccine in Mbandaka.
The nurse's death brings the toll to 27, with 49 cases of hemorrhagic fever, of which 22 have been confirmed as Ebola, 21 are probable and six suspected.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has dispatched 35 immunisation experts, including 16 mobilised during the last deadly outbreak in West Africa which occurred in 2013.
So far, 24 cases have been confirmed around Bikoro and four in Mbandaka, a city of 1.2 million people that's connected by the Congo River to Kinshasa and Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo.
NAN reports that the latest statement of the International Health Regulation (IHR) Emergency Committee on the epidemic, the outbreak in DR Congo is a local one and has not met the conditions for a public health emergency (PHE) of international concern.
Ilunga also said two patients were able to leave the hospital and return home "with a medical certificate attesting that they've recovered and can no longer transmit the disease because they have developed antibodies against Ebola".
"These data underscore the value of ongoing health promotion efforts to prevent sporadic transmission or future outbreaks including messaging that aims to reverse misconceptions about Ebola transmission and prevention, to clarify duration and modes of transmission from survivors, and to address stigma that survivors might face as they recover, rebuild their lives, and reintegrate into communities", the authors wrote.

"UK aid's support for Gavi, the global vaccine alliance, has already helped to ensure thousands of vaccines have arrived in the Democratic Republic of Congo ready for distribution, and more are on their way".
The vaccine, called rVSV-ZEBOV, will likely be distributed to some 8,000 to 10,000 people in its first phase, Peter Salama, deputy director-general of emergency preparedness and response at the World Health Organization, said.
Experts who have studied the Ebola virus since its discovery in 1976 along the Ebola river in Congo, then Zaire, say its suspected origin is forest bats. President Laurent Kabila on Saturday increased Ebola Emergency funds to more than $4 million.
A major challenge will be keeping the vaccines cold in this vast, impoverished, tropical country where infrastructure is poor.
The Ebola virus is transmitted to humans from animals and is estimated by the World Health Organization to have a 50-percent fatality rate.
While Congo has contained several Ebola outbreaks in the past, all of them were based in remote rural areas. It is spread via contact with the bodily fluids of those infected.
"CRS played a critical role in minimizing the impact of Ebola on the health systems in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone following the 2014 outbreak", Overcamp noted.
