Microsoft set out to make a statement at this year's E3: the games are back.
- "Jump Force" is an all-new game that mashes together several different popular anime into a single game, including characters from "Dragonball Z" and "Naruto".
Beyond new games, though, Microsoft announced the acquisition of four game development studios as well as the opening of a new fifth internal studio. The partnership announcement comes alongside the announcement of Forza Horizon 4, a new title in the series.
The new game in the Halo series was revealed with a trailer, although sadly no gameplay footage was shown. Pop is sure to be a cute little distraction that helps boost brand identity for Gears, and the Gears franchise has always seemed ripe for a tactics style game. I would actually say Microsoft's Xbox showcase was one of the best-paced conferences I've seen in a long time.
Of those, 18 titles were tailored exclusively for the Xbox console.
"The longevity of games resulting from the "games as a service" model is also why Xbox is committed to backwards compatibility". Even the remaster of Tales of Vesperia, originally an Xbox 360 exclusive when it first released (eventually it came to PS3, but only in Japan), is coming out for everything else.

The first set had taken 57 minutes, in stiflingly humid conditions, but there was to be no let-up for the underdog in the second. That was swatted away with Nadal's double-handed backhand, though, and the second set duly went the way of the favourite.
Xbox previewed a flurry of new titles and deals with studios as the video-gaming division of Microsoft Corp. looks to compete more intensely with Sony Corp.'s PlayStation and a resurgent Nintendo Co. The Xbox One's next year-or-so is looking pretty healthy. It bodes well not just for the sheer volume of content available to Xbox players, but to the diversity of that content.

Microsoft gave us a Forza Horizon 4 release date as soon as it revealed the game: you can start playing on October 2, 2018.
Additionally, Spencer announced the creation of Microsoft's own new studio, The Initiative, which will be led by Darrell Gallagher, who joined Microsoft in April.
343 Industries is busily working on the next Halo game, which is codenamed "Infinite".
