Matchroom Boxing has today formally announced that their heavyweight charge, Dillian Whyte, will face former WBO world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker on the 28th of July at the 02 Arena, London.

Parker was beaten by Joshua in March on a unanimous points decision in their title unification bout in Cardiff.

"There's going to be blood, pain and a knockout", said Whyte. "I'm bang up for this", said Whyte, who recently knocked out Lucas Browne in brutal style.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to training and burning off the pies I ate in New Zealand".

It is a fight which has seemingly come out of the blue, with American Bryant Jennings initially the favourite to be Parker's next opponent.

This is not some club show we are talking about, but a major fight with global interest between two legitimate top ten heavyweights that would decide the future of the heavyweight division.

Speaking via press release, Whyte and Parker are both confident in claiming the win and catapulting their themselves back into contention for a rematch with Anthony Joshua. I think that this is the one.

Smoke from the still-hot debris below rises from holes in the hellish terrain. "I saw the children's bodies", he said. The agency says at least 70 people were killed by similar flows of searingly hot gases and ash on Sunday.

"Beating Parker should nearly guarantee me a World title shot but let's see". "It came out of nowhere - it's not one that we planned".

"We've both been in with AJ. That pretty much speaks for itself", said Parker - the only fighter to so far take Joshua the full distance. [Last week] I believed I was fighting either [Kubrat] Pulev or [Luis] Ortiz.

That turns Whyte's attention to the WBC where an eliminator with big-hitting Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz is a fight that would pack monetary punch and see the victor in line to challenge Joshua who is also that organisation's champion. It'll be an incredible fight.

"Dillian, if Hearn is misleading you somehow, let me tell you personally - I am still waiting for you in Bulgaria to help you get out of the delusion and bring you back to earth!"

"He'll be seen as unsafe and a lot of guys are very mouthy and derogatory towards Parker in putting him down like [Tony] Bellew, or like Dillian Whyte", Higgins told Sky Sports in April.

"I'm really happy with how things have things have worked out".
