The Emmy-nominated actress from "The Crown" is taking on the role of Lisbeth Salander, the hacker created by author Stieg Larsson and previously played on the big screen by Rooney Mara and Noomi Rapace.
The Crown's Claire Foy has made her debut as Lisbeth Salander in the first trailer for upcoming thriller The Girl in the Spider's Web. It was directed by Fede Alvarez from a script he wrote with Steven Knight and Jay Basu. Given what we now know about men like Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer, the trailer for this sequel (based on a book in the series not written by the late Larsson) now plays like a #MeToo revenge fantasy.
