This still image taken from video Courtesy of PIX11 News in NY, shows police (L) talking to a woman who climbed to the base of the Statue of Liberty in NY on July 4, 2018.
The protest was against President Donald Trump administration's immigration policy and advocated ending deportations and family separations at the U.S. -Mexico border, the group said in a news release.
In pink sneakers and waving a shirt that read "Trump Care Makes Us Sick", the determined climber remained at the edge of the statue's copper robes for about three hours, as police pleaded with her to come down.
Willis says at least six people were taken into custody then.
It came hours after several other demonstrators opposed to Mr Trump's immigration policy were arrested for hanging a banner on the monument.

Visitors had to be evacuated from the Statue of Liberty on Independence Day after a group of activists protesting against the U.S. government's immigration enforcement agency caused a disruption.
The group initially denied any connection to the climber, saying in a tweet, "The climber on the Statue of Liberty has no connection to our #abolishice action earlier today".
Earlier in the day, 7 people were arrested for protesting. I think the turning point was we had a good rapport with her.
Some law Enforcement officials were seen preparing to climb up to the base of the statue and confront the woman, while the NYPD began building a rope rescue system.
Protests and evacuations at the Statue of Liberty are rare but not unheard of. When the woman retreated below Lady Liberty's upturned right foot, the officers cornered her there and eventually removed her from the precarious perch.
