The incident reportedly occurred on American Airlines flight 1942, which departed Charlotte, North Carolina, Monday night and arrived a couple of hours later in NY.
The body of a fetus was found in a jetliner's toilet Tuesday by an American Airlines cleaning crew, authorities said. An attendant noticed a large amount of toilet paper in one of the plane's lavatory toilets.
The baby was reportedly found in the bathroom of the plane.
The fetus was discovered by airline cleaning staff in a restroom aboard American Airlines Flight 1942 after it landed, the official told the Observer.
The fetus was between three to six months along.

Like the airline, LaGuardia Airport addressed the incident but without mentioning the fetus.
"We are looking into that", said Silvia Estevez, a spokesperson for Queens, New York, District Attorney Richard A. Brown.
"We will release determination when the investigation is complete".
The airline warned customers to expect possible delays as it reshuffled its jets to accomodate the investigation. "No further operational impacts are anticipated for fliers", the airline tweeted.
