The Parkhead club rejected a £9million bid from Fulham for the 27-year-old - who is in the last year of his contract - before the English deadline passed on Thursday.
Lichtenstein also said: "Entering the last 10 months of his contract, everyone understands that he can not put his career at risk by playing even slightly injured or at 95 per cent. Dedryck can not put his future and his family's future in danger by playing without being 100 per cent".
He said: "Offers of £7million and £8million - but apparently Celtic is financially strong enough not to go into that".
Strange, because the club apparently does not have the money to make Dedryck a dignified new contract proposal, and Dedryck is now slightly injured.
Boyata has developed into one of the key players for Celtic since he joined from Manchester City in 2015.
"The only other point; Dedryck's agent turned up (on Friday) at the training ground, which is closed the day before the game". All I want is for us to improve every aspect of the club. I've got a meeting with players at half past 10 concentrating on this game and I said I couldn't meet him before, but I'd meet him after training once I'd done my work.
Watch the best Perseid meteor shower of the year
As you can see from the video, green lights shoot across a star-filled sky in a truly awe-inspiring display. Whilst meteors can be seen on any night, at certain times of the year their numbers drastically increase.
Rangers have continued their pursuit of Hearts forward Kyle Lafferty, according to the latest Old Firm rumour mill.
"I can't go on about players we want in". We're confident going into that game and hopefully we can get the right result.
"We have done that in the last couple of seasons and the main reason, from a football perspective, is to compete at the highest level of the game".
"Given the quality of the squad we have, we are more than capable of scoring goals".
Dembele's return would be a huge boost for them as his experience and eye for goal will test the AEK defence and give manager Brendan Rodgers another option upfront.
After it, those responsible for Hearts' Twitter account used the opportunity to poke fun at the comments Brendan Rodgers made about their pitch last season - more specifically, the length of its grass.
