Grandson Jordan directed his remarks directly to Franklin, frequently stopping to fight back tears. Some other performers counted Aretha Franklin as a friend and colleague for many decades, like Stevie Wonder.
Actor Glynn Turman, who was married to Franklin from 1978 to 1984, recently told the show "Good Morning Britain" that one of his favorite memories of her occurred in England. I'll miss you, my friend.
