So while an 0-16 no longer wants Gordon after putting up with his troubles for six years, there's a handful of other teams that will happily accept his talent.

The Cleveland Browns announced they will be releasing Josh Gordon Monday, but the future release date may have been a play to entice teams into trading for the receiver.

Gordon's recently injured hamstring also is an issue, as ESPN's Jordan Zirm reported the receiver injured the hamstring during a promotional shoot Friday night. Gordon was upset about it, one of the sources said, surmising he was mad because he felt he had let down the team with the hamstring. "We wish Josh well".

As NFL fans know all too well, Gordon has been suspended multiple times for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

After not listing him on the injury report all week, the Browns announced Saturday afternoon that Gordon would be out for Sunday's game against the Saints due to a hamstring issue and would not be on the trip. He reunited with the club August 18.

Tourists flee as cliff face falls on to holiday beach
The water hit his feet with such a strong force, it knocked him onto his back and went on to cover more than half the beach . O'Connell described the piece of rock that fell as being as big as a four-storey building, crashing down onto the beach .

Browns head coach Hue Jackson had said in mid August that he never lost trust in Gordon.

Gordon had a touchdown catch in the Browns' Week 1 tie with Pittsburgh.

It's unclear if there was a major incident that led to the Browns decision to release Gordon, but reports are coming in that he showed up late to the team facility Saturday and was "not himself".

It is not yet clear what the breaking point was, but general manager John Dorsey says the organization has "reached a point where we feel it's best to part ways and move forward".
