The Gunners welcomed Leicester to the Emirates Stadium on Monday night and despite a worrying start that saw Hector Bellerin divert the ball into his own net, Arsenal responded to run out 3-1 victors, extending their winning streak under Emery to ten.
"We want the balance", head coach Emery said. "For me it is very important to score goals and also for the supporters to be excited with what happens on the pitch". Both scored 29 Premier League goals during their career, with the latter scoring his goals for Manchester City and Southampton.
"Mesut will come across as laid-back but he is helping everyone in a different way and he helps me a lot".
Although clearly delighted with his side's application, Emery heaped special praise on playmaker Mesut Ozil and challenged the retired Germany worldwide to produce similar performances every week.
Prince Harry and Meghan's plane aborts landing in Australia
From her most casual looks to her evening wear, she's proven just how seriously she's taking her royal fashion. She didn't go alone, either, letting Prince Harry accompany her on the "incredibly surreal day".
But the tough-tackling 22-year-old has quickly established himself as a fans' favourite, with fellow midfielder Granit Xhaka full of praise for the recent addition. That led to suggestions that the pair had fallen out, with some even questioning whether the German would have a place in the Gunners side going forward.
Ozil appeared to embrace the role as the World Cup victor led by example to help Arsenal to bounce back from an early own goal to ease to a resounding 3-1 victory.
For that reason, Emery has brought a strong squad with him, despite the fact kick-off in Lisbon comes less than three days since the victory over Leicester. The new arrival had to make do with Europa League and Carabao Cup football but has worked his way back into the Germany national team fold after a series of impressive displays since replacing Cech.
"In our mind we want to be first in this group".
We've also been handed a boost as Sokratis is back in the squad after recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained during the recent global break so the Greek star could make his comeback against Sporting.
