In a tease of the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event, "Elseworlds", DC and the CW have released the first look at Batwoman, played by actress Ruby Rose. This gorgeous version of the costume was designed by none other than frequent Tim Burton collaborator and four-time Oscar-winner Colleen Atwood!
The Australian actress will make her debut as Batwoman in the The CW's highly-anticipated Arrowverse, which will kick off December 9.
Set against a dark and gritty city backdrop - with the Bat-Signal shining bright in the night sky no less - Rose stuns in this first look photo at the iconic superhero.
The crossover begins with a special Sunday episode of The Flash on December 9 at 8PM ET/PT. Things then move over toArrow on Monday, December 10.

The three-night crossover kicks off with "The Flash" on December 5, but a spinoff series starring Rose has already been eyed by the network with a potential premiere date in 2019. If the project went to series, Batwoman would be the first gay lead character in a live-action superhero TV show.
In the Arrowverse crossover, which unites heroes across "Supergirl", "Arrow" and "The Flash", Kane is "an out lesbian and trained street fighter primed to snuff out [Gotham City's] criminal resurgence".
Batwoman is notably one of the few lesbian superheroes to hit the screen, with Rose herself an out lesbian actor. Pulling herself out of a destructive cycle, she chooses to become Batwoman and fight crime. I'm also an emotional wreck. because this is a childhood dream.
