The Supreme Court has banned 15-year old petrol and 10-year old diesel vehicles from plying on the streets of the National Capital Region (NCR). In the meeting, it was emphasised that all necessary steps should be taken to ensure that air quality levels are not allowed to go into the severe category in the next one week, read a statement.
A total of 167 complaints of construction and demolition activities were received. D Saha, former additional director and head of air quality management division at the CPCB, said, "No drastic change in pollution level is anticipated as the ground level emissions are under control due to various administrative and regulatory measures, we are likely to have a clean Diwali". Gurugram recorded AQI at 336, Faridabad at 359, Noida at 333, and Ghaziabad at 325.
