His investigation turned up information that stated a video was recorded in which Blizzard Co-Founder Allen Adham spoke to fans about a new Diablo project. Blizzard maintains that it had never meant to talk about Diablo 4 at BlizzCon and that no announcements were pulled from the show.
The comment came after the same Kotaku published a story that said Blizzard had recorded a Diablo 4 presentation video featuring co-founder Allen Adham, with the goal of showing it at BlizzCon. Sources have confirmed that the video is real, but it seems like it was never planned for it to be shown during BlizzCon.
In a statement, the studio said: "First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right". Although that ended up being misinterpreted by fans anyway, so Blizzard may not find any peace now until Diablo 4 is properly announced. Those sources also said that Diablo 4 is now in development, although the team isn't "ready to commit to an announcement" as the game has gone through many big changes over the last four years.
After the fallout of the Blizzard Immortal announcement, it is now being reported that Blizzard were set to close the show with a Diablo 4 reveal.
"Diablo fans reacted as though, after a 12-year relationship, Blizzard had taken them out to a candlelit dinner and a long walk upon a moonlit beach, then gifted them a pearl necklace". The analyst noted the Diablo Immortal game's release date is uncertain, given that the game isn't finished.
Khachanov shocks Djokovic to win Paris crown
The 22-year-old Khachanov, ranked 18th, is the first Russian to win here since Nikolay Davydekno in 2006. I want to talk about how well he (Khachanov) played all week.
"Diablo 3" embraced a portable format through a November 2 release for Nintendo Switch and "Diablo Immortal" will continue down the same path.
Based on everything I've seen about Diablo IV, I predicted that the game wouldn't come any time soon and still has many years of development to wrap up.
Kotaku has updated its story, claiming that the video does exist, but the timeline of Blizzard's announcement isn't clear.
