After moving to 50-0 as a boxer with his win over Conor McGregor in last year's circus fight, Mayweather has reportedly agreed to take his first steps into the world of mixed martial arts and will fight undefeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Years' Eve in an event thrown by Japanese MMA brand RIZIN.
Promoters are still working on the specific rule set.
"It's always been a goal of mine to go outside the USA and go into another arena and display talent as a professional because I did it as an amateur".
"Teppen" has won all 27 of his professional contests, as well as his four mixed martial arts bouts. "It's always been a goal of mine to go outside out of the USA and display my talent".
"He's young and he's undefeated so it's obvious he's doing something right", Mayweather said of Nasukawa.
In the meantime, Mayweather will take on Nasukawa, who is 27-0 with 21 knockouts in kickboxing and 4-0 with two knockouts in MMA.
