Markelle Fultz has been through the ringer in his National Basketball Association career.
As Woj notes, TOS is a physical injury that affects nerves between the neck and shoulder, resulting in abnormal functional movement and range of motion.
The Sixers confirmed the news through a press release, stating that Fultz has been through a "series of consultations with specialists across several disciplines".

Fultz was the No. 1 pick of the 2017 draft.
According to the Sixers, Fultz will remain out indefinitely as he begins physical therapy immediately. Fultz lost his starting spot in the rotation when the Sixers traded for Jimmy Butler.
The injury is obviously a different beast for a pitcher, who puts far more stress on the arm than a basketball player, but Fultz can only hope he doesn't suffer the same fate in Philly that Harvey did in Flushing. The 20-year old guard has not appeared in a game since the team's November 19th win against the Phoenix Suns, after which he was evaluated by multiple specialists.
