Liberal MP Kim Rudd defended the government's response and described Lametti's words in the House of Commons as "very clear".
Wilson-Raybould says she can not discuss allegations that she was pressured by the Prime Minister's Office to help SNC-Lavalin avoid a criminal prosecution. "This is a construction company and what it's registering what its conservations are about are justice issues". "I think this is an absolute sign of political interference".
The move comes as The Canadian Press reports that Wilson-Raybould was involved in extensive, internal government discussions last fall about whether SNC-Lavalin should be allowed to avoid criminal prosecution.
"On one hand, it was meant to enhance integrity in government by statutorily ensuring independence of the prosecution decision-making function from inappropriate political control, direction and influence", the book says.
The officials said the government would have been remiss not to deliberate over the fate of the Quebec giant, given that a prosecution could bankrupt the company, putting thousands of Canadians out of work.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says the allegations suggest Trudeau demoted his attorney general for defying his orders and called on the prime minister to immediately come clean about what he knew, and when he knew it.
"At this point, everything is on the table", Scheer said.
Scheer says Conservatives on the House of Commons justice committee, along with the New Democrats, will also force an emergency meeting to consider a motion calling on nine high-ranking government officials to testify, including Wilson-Raybould herself.
"The allegations that we are hearing in the last 24 hours are unprecedented", Scheer said. Three months later, Wilson-Raybould was moved to the veterans affairs post, a move widely seen as a demotion. "No minister of the Crown can be compelled to answer for things that happened in their former role", he said.
Smoking marijuana may not affect men’s fertility
Men who had smoked marijuana had more concentrated sperm than men who had never smoked marijuana, the researchers found . There were no statistically significant differences in sperm concentration between current and past cannabis smokers.
According to the Globe, Wilson-Raybould was unwilling to play along and did not follow through despite the high-level pressure.

Scheer also said he would support the suggestion by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh to have the ethics commissioner investigate the allegations of political interference.
NDP MPs Charlie Angus and Nathan Cullen on Friday wrote to ethics commissioner Mario Dion, suggesting the allegations could represent a breach of a provision of the Conflict of Interest Act that prohibits public office holders from giving "preferential treatment to any person or organization".
If indeed Wilson-Raybould refused to attempt to persuade her prosecutors to drop pursuit of a criminal trial of SNC-Lavalin in favour of a settlement of the charges, the Attorney General became expendable. Singh also pointed to sections in the Act which govern "Influence" and "Insider Information" as potential sources of other violations.
Ontario's former attorney general Michael Bryant, who now serves as executive director of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, said that the Globe's report details "the kind of allegation that can lead to criminal investigations".
"The RCMP is aware of this matter but will not further comment at this point", spokesperson Michelle Schmidt said.
CTV News has asked Jody Wilson-Raybould for comment on the story and her office said she will not be commenting today.
