"Ms. Wilson Raybould's resignation makes it crystal clear that Justin Trudeau is trying to hide the truth with regards to the SNC-Lavalin affair", he told reporters in Fredericton, adding that his party respects her decision to resign from cabinet "on principle".
The Prime Minister has also announced that Minister Harjit Sajjan has replaced Jody Wilson-Raybould as the acting Minister of Veterans Affairs.
Due to her former role as attorney general, Wilson-Raybould says she can't comment on the SNC-Lavalin accusations because she is "bound by solicitor-client privilege".

The SNC-Lavalin issue dates back to 2015 when the federal government laid corruption charges against the Quebec based company.
Since these allegations came out last week, Justin Trudeau has claimed that he never directed Wilson-Raybould in any way to come to any specific conclusion on the SNC-Lavalin case but that he welcomes the ethics commission investigation so that Canadians can maintain their confidence in the government.
SNC-Lavalin was charged with paying out $48 million in bribes to Libyan officials in the decade leading up to the NATO-led overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi's government in 2011, payments meant to influence government decision-making, though the company was also charged with defrauding Libyan companies of about $130 million.
