The visiting Bangladesh cricket team was arriving for prayers at one of the mosques when the shooting started but all members were safe, a team coach told Reuters. Sometimes called the garden city, it has been rebuilding since an natural disaster in 2011 killed 185 people and destroyed many downtown buildings.
The massacres took place from 1.40pm this afternoon at the Masjid Al Noor and Linwood Masjid mosques.
